A Major Milestone: SonicPrecision Secures Technology License Deal with Philips
At SonicPrecision, we are on a mission to transform cardiac arrhythmia treatment, and today, we’re thrilled to share a major step forward: We have officially signed a technology license deal with Philips!
This agreement marks the true beginning of SonicPrecision, giving us the foundation to build our smart ablation catheter with cutting-edge ultrasound vision technology. With this license, we can extend years of R&D achieved by Philips to a customer wanted solution leveraging the latest technology standards, and thus gain a head start in bringing our innovation to market.
Why Ultrasound Vision is a Game-Changer
Today, electrophysiologists work with limited feedback during ablation procedures. They don’t know if a lesion will be durable, if they are over-treating or under-treating, or what exactly lies in front of their catheter tip. Ultrasound vision changes that. For the first time, physicians will be able to “see” in front of the tip of their catheter, tailor their ablation approach and energy protocol with unmatched precision.
A Tough Road, A Worthwhile Result
The journey to this agreement wasn’t easy. Negotiations were tough and complex, but we reached an outcome that satisfied both SonicPrecision and Philips. A deal like this isn’t just about gaining access to technology – it’s about setting the foundation for longterm collaboration, ensuring both parties are set up for success while rewarded for investments made.
Partnering with Philips, a globally recognized leader in medical innovation, is a privilege. Their reputation in the medical field is a door-opener for us as a new venture. The strength of their brand gives credibility to our mission and helps us to gain the trust of key stakeholders in the industry.
The Future: Pushing the Boundaries Further
Our vision extends beyond today’s technology. We aim to integrate ultrasound vision into the next-generation Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) technology, combining two innovations to set a new standard in treatment.
Our next steps? Proving that ultrasound vision can be successfully integrated into a catheter capable of delivering pulsed field ablation as well radiofrequency ablation. Early tests are promising, and we are eager to continue our engineering route to refine our product solution, and move towards validation.
The Real Start of SonicPrecision
For us, this deal is the defining moment – the sine qua non. Without this agreement, there would be no company. Now, it’s time to get to work.
We are grateful for this opportunity and excited to give this technology the chance it deserves. The need in the field of Electrophysiology is clear, and we are ready to deliver a solution that truly makes a difference.
Stay tuned, we’re just getting started.
